Friendship knows no species in the animal kingdom. While weird, animals with different species can still form an amazing bond with each other. Take for instance this owl and a dog who share moments together as best of friends.
The photos of the two are already circulating online because of their strange yet amazing friendship. They prove that size and species won’t matter as long as you are genuine with the friendship you will offer to another animal.
Ingo, a Belgian Malinois, is owned by professional photographer Tanja Brandt. Brandt said the dog had been friends with the owl since the two first met a year ago. Brandt, later on, named the owl Poldi.
As a photographer, Brandt thought of capturing the moments shared by the two animals to show the world that amid differences, two species can form an unbreakable bond with each other.

Your longing shows you the way….. . I am sooo happy that my foot becomes better from day to day😊 I can walk a few stairs and go shopping, clean a little, drive my car and take care of all the animals❤️ I can play and cuddle with all of them and even be a little bit outdoors with them again😃❤️ And I can rescue animals again😃 . Photographing on the ground is still difficult for me but that will come again 😬 . Oh and there are only one pair of shoes – the foot is simply too thick for shoes and I am actually too fat. I think, I will get stinky feet, when it gets more hot, because I can only wear the winter boots 🙈😱 It‘s time to say goodbye to sandals- model – plans in the future 😂😂😂 . But the bad time is over and I enjoy the animals double and triple and thousand times 🥰 . Meanwhile the trust to me is back❤️ . And the love and friendship never stopped…. ❤️❤️❤️ . —————– . For Brandt, while some people think it might be unconventional for the two animals to be best of friends, it is the differences between Ingo and Poldi that make their ties stronger. Brandt added that she would like to let the people know about the friendship of the two through photos.
This is why she makes it a point to take photos of the two whenever they play, cuddle, and enjoy each other’s company just like real siblings. Brandt said the photos of the two animals she captured contain powerful and beautiful stories about the behavior of different animals.

The early bird 🦉😊 . Before Poldi had his wife Finchen, he was really really loud 🙈 . One time (but it‘s a secret now ok🤫🙈) I dated a man (I was single) – we wrote long time in internet and phoned many weeks… We had a long distance, so we met in a hotel in the middle. . We were the whole day out with Ingo and Poldi. Then in a restaurant and then in the hotel room. He wanted to kiss me 🙈🤫 . Then Poldi began to sing 😱 Loud, really loud 😱🦉 We played with him a bit, then he was silent. . Next try – Poldi started 😱 I said: ok perhaps when I bring him in the bathroom, together with Ingo ?😊 . I did. Next try. Both began to sing. Ingo also 😱😱😱 . I said oha. The whole hotel cannot sleep 😱 I said, perhaps you can bring him in my car (he loves the car)? He did. . Then Ingo ran left, right and feeped (dogcry) – I said: oh no, can you please bring Poldi again? He did 🙈😱😃 . At the end, we sat all together in the hotel- bathroom and played with Ingo and Poldi 🙈😂😂 . Don‘t think about a romantic date, when your owl is with you 🙈😂😂😂 . —————– . The message of her photos, according to Brandt, is strong enough to reverberate in the hearts and minds of humankind that regardless of species and size, two different animals could still be each other’s home. Ingo and Poldi are the living proof for this claim.
As a photographer, Brandt vows that she will continuously tell stories about the friendship and adventure of the dog and the owl through her lenses.
